Hon. Charles W. Simon, Jr. passes away at the age of 87

On February 18, 2019, the Hon. Charles W. Simon, Jr., who served as a judge in Ionia and Montcalm Counties from 1971-1998, passed away at the age of 87 in Indian Wells, California.

Judge Simon began his career as a probate judge in 1971, appointed by Governor Milliken. In 1976, Judge Simon was elevated to the Circuit Court bench, also an appointment by Governor Milliken.

The Ionia Montcalm Bar Association extends condolences to Judge Simon’s family and friends. His presence in the local legal community will be greatly missed.

Ionia Montcalm Bar Association elects 2019 officers

On January 18, 2019, the Ionia Montcalm Bar Association elected its officers for the 2019 calendar year.

Elected as President was Leo Madarang, of Portland. Elected as Vice President was Jordan Rasmussen, of Edmore. Keeley Blanchard, of Greenville, was re-elected as Secretary/Treasurer.
